AC splits with Central Private; Cathedral drops pair to Hinds

Adams County Christian School and Central Private split a pair of MPSA District 4-3A games Tuesday at the ACCS Rebel Gym.

In the varsity girls game, the Lady Rebels defeated Central Private 56-52.

Despite trailing 20-14 after the first quarter, the Lady Rebels outscored Central Private 18-3 in the second quarter for a 32-23 halftime lead.

Holli Hankins led the Lady Rebels (7-12, 1-0) with 14 points.

In the varsity boys game, Central Private defeated the Rebels 80-36.

Ty Smith led the Rebels (1-11, 0-1) with 14 points.

ACCS next hosts Silliman for four games at 4 p.m. Friday.

Cathedral lost a pair of District 6-2A games to Hinds Agricultural High School Tuesday night in Utica.

In the varsity girls game, the Lady War Dawgs defeated the Lady Green Wave 67-33.

Mary-Margaret Alwood led Cathedral (6-5, 3-4) with 13 points.

Deidra Wilcher and Danielle Hilliard each scored 12 points for Hinds, who improved to 6-1 in district play with the win.

In the varsity boys game, the War Dawgs defeated the Green Wave 75-39.

Johnathon Jackson led the Green Wave (1-11, 0-7) with 11 points. Brady Hendrix chipped in with 10.

Lawrence Noel led the Dawgs with 15 points and Samuel Richardson added 13.

Cathedral next plays at St. Aloysius at 6 p.m. Friday.
