A Vidalia woman was killed Saturday evening when she was pinned between her car and another vehicle on Lower Woodville Road near Cloverdale Road. Mable Dunn, 43, of 1644 Camellia St. in Vidalia was killed in the accident, said Maj. John Manley of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident is still under investigation.
&uot; Her vehicle became disabled, so she stopped the car and got out&uot;&160;to see what was wrong, according to preliminary reports, Manley said.
&uot; She was standing at the rear of her vehicle, and a second vehicle did not see her until it was too late.
&uot;Mrs. Dunn’s vehicle was in the road and didn’t have its headlights on,&uot;&160;Manley said.
The second vehicle, which was being driven by a 17-year-old girl, hit Dunn and pinned her between the two cars.
Dunn was pronounced dead at Natchez Regional Medical Center by Adams County Coroner James Lee. Lee said an autopsy will be performed because Dunn was a pedestrian.
The 17-year-old girl, whose name cannot be released because she is a juvenile, was taken to Natchez Community Hospital and treated for minor injuries sustained when her car’s airbags deployed.
The girl is not being charged in connection with the accident at this time, Manley said.
Manley also said that both cars, Dunn’s 1991 Ford and the 17-year-old’s 1993 Geo, sustained major damage in the crash.
