Ferriday headed to Top 28

Ferriday outscored Jackson 39 to 18 in the second half of the state quarterfinals on Saturday night on its way to a big 68-51 road win.
The win sends the Trojans to the Top 28 Tournament of Champions in Lafayette at the Cajundome for the first time since 1989, when it won the state title.
James Davis’ Trojans will take on the winner of the state quarterfinal game between Many and Springhill.
Jason Scott led three double figure scorers in the win over Jackson on Saturday with 24 points, while LaKendrick Nix and D’juan Banks each chipped in with 14 points.
The Trojans trailed by four points at the half before pulling away in the third quarter when they outscored Jackson 20-8.
