A Natchez resident received more than 70 stitches and staples Thursday night after being assaulted at the Malt Shop on Homochitto Street, police officials said.
Tammy L. Wilson, 21, of 627 Maple St., was charged with aggravated assault for allegedly cutting Ebony Campbell, 22, 513 Madison St. with a boxcutter, said Natchez Police Chief Willie Huff. &uot; These two individuals have had a long-running problem with each other,&uot; Huff said.
At about 8 p.m., police believe Campbell walked past Wilson, who jumped on her and began fighting.
Campbell received the most serious injuries and needed more than 70 stitches and staples to mend wounds to her face, arm and stomach, Huff said.
During the struggle, Wilson’s hand was bit and her side cut, Huff said.
Wilson was released on a $10,000 bond Friday, and Campbell was treated and released at Natchez Regional Medical Center. She has not been charged.
