Natchez police are still looking for a man who allegedly carjacked a cab driver in Jackson Tuesday and forced her to drive to Natchez.
The victim, a driver for Veteran’s Cab company in Jackson, said the suspect pointed a gun at her at a gas station on High Street at about 4:30 a.m., giving her no choice but to drive him to Natchez.
After forcing her to drive to Natchez, the victim said, the suspect forced her to drive around the north part of town while he made calls on a cellular phone.
He later released the victim at Natchez Market II on U.S. 61 North and walked away with her car keys and about $150, Natchez Police Chief Willie Huff said.
Sgt. Grant Parker of the Jackson Police Department said he spoke to the victim Tuesday, and he said his department has already begun to investigate the case and officers expect to begin a more in-depth investigation today.
The victim described the subject as a black male in his early 20s with a medium dark complexion. He is at least 5 feet 6 inches tall, clean-shaven with faded blond hair. Anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to call Miss-Lou Crime Stoppers at 442-5000. All calls are anonymous and a cash reward could be available.
