Start your week with the good news

Good morning, and good Monday. As we begin another week filled with work and school, we stop to reflect on the news and good deeds of the past week. And, on this Easter Monday, we stop to solemnly reflect on the gift of our lives.
4Congratulations to Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s English Department, which once again sponsored a successful Renaissance Faire at the Natchez campus. Hundreds of students and spectators joined in the fun.
4Congratulations, also, the Ewing family, which once again sponsored a tremendously successful Easter egg hunt at Duncan Park on Saturday. The community event has been coordinated and sponsored by the Ewing family for several years now and is a wonderful gift to the youngsters in Natchez. Hundreds of eager egg-hunters were on hand again this year, scampering about in search of the golden eggs.
4Thank you, also, to the churches and religious groups that sponsored the many special Easter services, including the sunrise service hosted by Jefferson Street United Methodist Church on Easter morning. These types of events help weave the thread of our community and strengthen us.
4Thanks, also, to the dozens of teams signed up to participate in the annual Relay for Life, along with the scores of volunteers working diligently to coordinate this event. The all-night relay raises much-needed money for the American Cancer Society to use in its research to fight the disease. We encourage all of you to support these fund-raising teams in the next few weeks.
Here’s hoping you have a week filled with good news and good deeds.
