Miss-Lou set to host LSU coaches

FERRIDAY, La. – Two LSU assistant football coaches will speak to area alumni Thursday night at the Panola Country Club.
Defensive line coach Pete Jenkins and offensive line coach George Yarno will address the Miss-Lou Area LSU Alumni and Friends on May 3. According to a flyer circulated by the group, cocktails will be served at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and guest speakers at 7 p.m.
Tickets for the event are $20 and will benefit the group’s Miss-Lou Scholarship Fund.
Yarno, a 13-year professional football veteran, joined the LSU football staff in January and he serves as the Tigers’ offensive line coach. Yarno came to LSU from Arizona State where he served as the Sun Devils’ offensive line coach last year.
Jenkins, a veteran defensive line coach in the SEC, and a former assistant coach at LSU, has rejoined the Tiger staff as defensive line coach. Jenkins is in his second tour of duty at LSU, having helped the Tigers win SEC championships in 1986 and 1988.
