A small alligator was found on S. Commerce Street Friday evening. Dr. Shawn Doherty was driving to pick up his daughter and friend on Commerce Street when he noticed a three-foot-long gator along the side of the road. Natchez police responded to the call and caught the animal. Mississippi Wildlife Fisheries and Parks conservation officer Michael Bell, above, takes the alligator from the Natchez Police. The animal was to be set free at St. Catherine Wildlife Refuge.
