VIDALIA, La. – In its Tuesday night meeting, the Vidalia Board of Aldermen voted to adopt an ordinance to borrow $3.8 million to help pay for the cost of electricity the town must buy from Louisiana Hydroelectric.

Meanwhile, work should start in the next 60 days on a project to replace sewer lines, Mayor Hyram Copeland said Tuesday. In Tuesday’s meeting, aldermen voted to award a $399,000 bid for the project. The board also granted an occupational license and sign application for The Cash Drawer on Carter Street.
