Charlie Phillips, civil engineer and contractor with the Army Corps of Engineers, watches a red dye seeping into the Mississippi River Thursday morning. The environmentally friendly dye was poured into a sinkhole on Water Street to find where it emptied into the river. George Sills, a Corps geotechnical specialist, said they will dig up the sinkhole and seal it up with cement.
