Katherine B. Carter

June 13, 1921 – Aug. 22, 2001

Services for Katherine B. Carter, 80, of Natchez, who died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home’s Union Street Chapel with the Rev. David McGuffee officiating.

Burial will be in the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in McCall Creek under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Carter was born June 13, 1921, in Franklin County, the daughter of Robert R. and Lena Bowman Byrd.

Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Carter and a son, Dalton Carter.

Survivors include one sister, Hazel Marie Byrd of Natchez.

Pallbearers will be Scott Ballard, James Huff, Kenneth &uot;Sonny&uot; Johnston, Mark Taylor, Claude Harrigill and Richard White.

Calvin W. Wilson

FERRIDAY, La. – Services for Calvin W. Wilson, 42, of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, in Natchez, will be at 2 p.m. today at Richardson-Sims Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Hardy officiating.

Mr. Wilson will be cremated.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa Wilson of Vidalia; one daughter, Camelia Wilson of Vidalia; his father, Herbert C. Wilson; two brothers, Johnny Ray Wilson and Herbert C. Wilson Jr. of Vidalia; three sisters, Diane Creel of Zachery, Karen W. Cross of Monterey and Kristy Nugent of Vidalia.

Isaac Reynolds Jr.

Funeral arrangements for Isaac Reynolds Jr., 21, formerly of Waterproof, La., who died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001, in Nagasaki, Japan, are incomplete at Concordia Funeral Home.

He was the son of Isaac Reynolds Sr. and the late Betty Reynolds and was in the U.S. Navy on active duty in Nagasaki, Japan.

Geneva Garden

Nov. 19, 1925 – Aug. 17, 2001

ROSETTA – Services for Geneva Garden, 75, who died Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sweet Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Sullivan officiating.

Burial will be in Nebo Cemetery in Crosby under the direction of Anderson Funeral Home of Gloster.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Garden was born Nov. 19, 1925, the daughter of Rayford Batteaste and Amy Perry.

Mrs. Garden was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Johnnie Garden of Crosby; four sons, Johnnie Ray Garden of Gloster, Robert Benson Garden of Woodville, Jerry Garden of Hampton, Va., and Phillip Garden of Crosby; four daughters, Lula Mae Garden and Patricia Ann Faust of Crosby, Barbara Louise Garden of Woodville and Pamela Garden Lloyd of Ferriday; one sister, Norvell Brengettsy of Chicago; one brother, Huey Batteaste of Gloster; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Roger McNeely

Jan. 20, 1965 – Aug. 21, 2001

FERRIDAY, La. – Services for Roger McNeely, 36, of Clayton, who died Sunday, Aug. 19, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be in the Whites Ridge Family Cemetery in Jonesville under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. McNeely was born Jan. 20, 1965, in Jonesville, the son of Coleman Ray McNeely and Beatrice McNeely.

He worked on an oil rig and a Pentecostal.

Mr. McNeely was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Beatrice McNeely; six sisters, Carline Williams of Prarrieville, Judy McNeely of Gonzales, Linda McNeely of Clayton, Gloria McNeely of Ferriday, Sue Adair of Prarrieville and Connie Finley of Monterey; two brothers, Kenneth Ray McNeely of Colorado and Coleman Ray &uot;Junior&uot; McNeely of Wyoming; two aunts, Alta Mae Hamilton and Pauline Childress; one uncle, Lois Howard; and 20 nieces and nephews.
