Davis looking for more victories at overseas meet

Natchez High junior Janice Davis races today in the 200-meter dash in Edinburgh, Scotland in the Edinburgh International Games. Davis will race against athletes from Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Nineteen Americans will participate in the track and field event.
Davis is with the Team USA Juniors for the final international meet of the season.
Last Saturday, competed in the USA-Great Britain Juniors dual meet. She teamed with Ashlee Williams, Ebony Shotwell and LaShauntea Moore to capture the 4x100m relay title in a time of 45.28. The time was a Northwood Stadium record.
Davis also competed in the 200m. She took third in the event, posting a time of 24.98. Moore won with a time of 23.99.
Team USA defeated Great Britain 201-176. The women won 95-88. The men ran away with a 106-88 victory.
Davis had been hampered by a hip flexor pull, which kept her out of her last international meet in Hungary.
