Richard Dark has joined the staff of The Natchez Democrat.

Dark comes to The Democrat with more than three years experience in covering sports for daily newspapers in Mississippi and Louisiana.

After graduating from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1996, Dark moved to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he began his career in journalism working at the Lafayette Daily Advertiser while attending graduate school.

Dark has also worked in Greenville and Meridian, covering local, prep, college and professional sports.

&uot;It’s my goal to bring a comprehensive style of sports reporting to The Democrat in an effort to make this award-winning newspaper even better,&uot; Dark said.
