Arkansas couple takes win at Beau Pré scramble with a 66

Henry and Beverly Harris of Hot Springs Village, Ark. backed up their first-round 66 on Monday with a final round, 8-under-par 64 on Tuesday for a 14-under total of 130 to take the championship flight of the first ever Belles and Beaus Couples Scramble at the Beau Pr\u00E9 Country Club.

Sunshine and unseasonably warm weather the greeted 76 golfers who participated in the two-day tournament.

&uot;We played very well together as a team,&uot; Henry Harris said. &uot;We never seemed to get in a lot of trouble. It’s fun to play well on a good golf course.&uot;

&uot;We had a lot of fun and we played well,&uot; Beverly Harris said. &uot;The golf course was fun to play. The weather was great and that helped.&uot;

The team of Tommy Geoghegan and Sally Durkin of Natchez shot a final-round 69 to finish six shots back in second place at 136.

Raymond and Barbara Ager shot back-to-back 70s to finish at 140. Paul and Brenda Cuevas shot a disappointing 1-over-par 73 to finish at 142.

Elmer and Judieth Amacker shot a 6-under-par 66 to take the first flight with a two-day score of 138.

Tom and Betty Gilman fired a 3-under 69 for a two-day total of 145 to take the second flight.

Herman and Mona Guillaume, who had an 8-over-par 80 on Monday, shot an 8-under-par 64 for a two-day score of 144 and moved up to the first flight.
