ACCS student, 16, killed in one-car accident

NATCHEZ – Injuries from an auto accident in the Kingston community claimed the life of an Adams County Christian School junior early Sunday morning, authorities said.
Joe Douglas &uot;Doug&uot; Guedon, 16, of Church Hill, died at Natchez Community Hospital following the accident.
The crash happened at about 1 a.m. Sunday on Kingston Road near Greenfield Road.
&uot;He went into a severe curve and his truck turned over,&uot; said Sheriff Tommy Ferrell. &uot;We’ve had several bad accidents there over the years.&uot;
The accident is still under investigation, Ferrell said.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Church Hill United Methodist Church, where Guedon was a member.
Burial will be at Christ Episcopal Church in Church Hill under the direction of Laird Funeral Home. Visitation will start at 4 p.m. today at the church.
Guedon, who belonged to Cypress Grove Hunting Club, was an avid hunter, loved to help on his parents’ farm and was also a handy mechanic, said Byrnsie Marks, an ACCS parent and family friend.
&uot;He was just a very good kid and a very smart kid,&uot; Marks said. &uot;Everybody liked him.&uot;
