NATCHEZ – Just minutes after allegedly robbing the Holsum Bakery on D’Evereux Drive Friday, two Natchez teenagers were arrested and charged with armed robbery.
The names of the 15- and 16-year-olds were not released because their cases are presently under the jurisdiction of Adams County Youth Court, said Natchez Police Chief Willie Huff.
Officers responded to the scene at about 11 a.m. after a 45-year-old employee called to say she had been robbed, Huff said.
The victim told police that a man believed to be the 16-year-old, came into the business and acted like he wanted to buy something.
He later came behind the counter, demanded money while pointing an object into her back before fleeing the scene with the money. Huff said.
&uot;As he left (the victim) said she saw the knife in his hand,&uot; Huff said.
No one was injured.
Another employee took off after the suspect, who was later arrested at the intersection of Old Washington Road near Holden Street only a short distance from the business.
The 15-year-old allegedly acted as the lookout in the robbery and was also arrested in that area of town, Huff said.
The victim was not certain what type of knife the suspect used in the crime, and police did not recover a weapon, Huff said.
But police were able to recover an undisclosed amount of stolen money.
The juveniles were being held without bond Friday at the Adams County Jail.
