NATCHEZ &045; A Natchez Middle School teacher was arrested by Natchez police Monday afternoon on a sexual battery charge for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old student.

James Bryan Kyzer, 24, of 156 Jefferson Davis Blvd., Apartment 107, was being held in the Natchez City Jail without bond until an arraignment that is set for today.

The incidents allegedly took place at Kyzer’s apartment, said Interim Police Chief Mike Mullins.

&uot;It had apparently been going on since September,&uot; Mullins said. &uot;The girl’s parents found notes from the suspect in the girl’s bookbag.&uot;

The acts were consensual, but Kyzer was charged with sexual battery because of the age difference and because he was in a position of authority, Mullins said.
