Audrey Louise Cotton

Audrey Louise Cotton, 66, of San Diego, Calif. formerly of Natchez, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, in San Diego.

Mrs. Cotton was born Dec. 18, 1935, in San Diego, the daughter of John and Emma Fuller. She completed her high school education at San Diego High School in 1953. She married in 1959 and moved to Natchez. She was a member of Zion Chapel Methodist A.M.E. Church and was on the M.J. Brady Missionary Society Board. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Alcorn State University and a master’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Sorority and volunteered with the American Cancer Society in Mississippi.

Mrs. Cotton was preceded in death by her husband, Herious Cotton.

Survivors include seven sons, Glen A. Cotton and wife Julia of Tyler, Texas, Herious A. Cotton of Jackson, Jarvious C. Cotton and wife Effie of Clarksdale, Jory T. Cotton of Las Vegas, Jarvis C. Cotton and wife Archia of Ferriday, Joseph D. Cotton of Las Vegas and Adrian and wife Sarah of Port Hueneme, Calif.; three daughters, Jocelyn Y. Cotton, Onyx M. Reed of Las Vegas and Dithra A. Lewis and husband Tommy of San Diego; siblings, John Fuller and wife Cleofe of Santa Ana, Calif., and Betty Joann Cubie of Las Vegas; sisters-in-law, Hazel Gray of Lake Charles, La., Annie Scudder of Shreveport, La., Oristine Williams and her husband, Bill, both of San Diego; 27 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; friends, Mary Moore, the Rev. Clifton and Alma Marvel, Craig Hunt and Lisa Brice of Natchez, Allen Reed, Francis Schmidt and John Johnson of Las Vegas, Rev. Arthur Brown, Katherine Martin, Gloria Palmer and Prescious Daniels, all of San Diego.

Pearlina Washington

Sept. 1, 1915 &045; Jan. 7, 2003

WOODVILLE &045; Services for Pearlina Washington, 87, of Baton Rouge, who died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, at Oasis Rehabilitation Hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Kingford Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Scott officiating.

Burial will follow in Cedar Rest Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Webb Funeral Home of Natchez.

A procession will leave at 9:45 a.m. Monday from the funeral home.

Mrs. Washington was born Sept. 1, 1915, the daughter of William and Ophelia Bell Henyard. She was a Baptist and a member of the Senior Usher Board and the Union Reform Society Independent Lodge No. 2. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include six foster children, Alphonse Hargrave, Bill Henyard, the Rev. John Veal, Louvenia Bell, Mary Henyard Carter and Annie L. Henyard.

Pallbearers will be Alphonse Hargrave Sr., Alphonse Hargrave Jr., Bill Henyard, Robert Bell, Conway Henyard, Alvin Henyard, James Carter and Brandon Sheppard.

Oliver J. Lucas

March 1, 1946 &045; Jan. 6, 2003

NATCHEZ&045; Services for Oliver J. &uot;Jake&uot; Lucas, 56, of Natchez, who died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Flower Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. John Quinn officiating.

Burial will follow in Pine Hill Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.

Mr. Lucas was born March 1, 1946, in Natchez, the son of Otis Lucas Sr. and Virginia Lucas. He was a welder and a Methodist.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife, Eliza Lucas; his mother; five sons, Frank Lucas and his wife, Patricia, of Alexandria, La., Oliver Lucas Jr., Mikel Kelly, Jerry Wilson and his wife, Sheila, all of Natchez, and Lawrence Mason of Jackson; one daughter, Lisa Taylor, and her husband, Joseph, of Milwaukee, Wis.; seven grandchildren; four brothers, Andrew Lucas and his wife, Essie, Allen Winston and his wife, Mary, and Tyrone Jefferson, all of Natchez, and Walter Lucas and his wife, Debbie, of Kansas City, Mo.; one godbrother, Robert Foster of Natchez; four godsisters, Martha Jones, Alma McKnight, Rosie M. Isaac and Penella Green, all of Natchez; and a number of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.

Dewey Hobson Rowe

May 26, 1926 &045; Jan. 8, 2003

SANDERSON, TEXAS &045; Services for Dewey Hobson Rowe, 76, of Sanderson, Texas, and formerly of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at Odessa Medical Center in Odessa, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at First Calvary Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in Sanderson Cemetery in Sanderson under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Fort Stockton, Texas.

Mr. Rowe was born May 26, 1926, in Harworth, the son of Dewey Hobson Rowe Sr. and Marie Augusta Rowe. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Mr. Rowe worked at International Paper Co. from 1946 to 1950 in Mobile, Ala., and from 1950 to 1966 in Natchez.

He then attended Memphis Baptist College and did missionary work in Mexico and Bolivia. He was a member of the Fundamental Baptist World-Wide Mission.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jean Scholls.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Belle Rowe; two daughters, Alta Marie Green and her husband, Newton, both of Ringgold, and Dorothy Jane Diaz and her husband, Gene, both of Fort Stockton; and four grandchildren, Tiffany Buckles and Christopher Green, both of Ringgold, and Phillip Rowe and his wife, Stefanie, and Daniel Freeman, all of Fort Stockton.

Harvey Paul Clark Sr.

Sept. 13, 1951 &045; Jan. 11, 2003

EVA, La. &045; Services for Harvey Paul Clark Sr., 51, of Monterey, who died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Eva Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Bobby Ratcliff officiating.

Burial will follow in the Eva Church of God Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. today until service time Monday at the church.

Mr. Clark was born Sept. 13, 1951, in Ville Platte, La., the son of Eugene Ray Clark Sr. and Bernice Morace Clark.

He worked as a lieutenant with the Concordia Parish Correctional Facility near Ferriday and was a member of Eva Pentecostal Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Eugene Ray Clark Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Johnson Clark; two sons, Paul Clark Jr. of Ada, Okla., and Kevin Clark of Monterey; two daughters, Julie Clark of Pineville, La., and Kelsie Clark of Monterey; two grandchildren, Ryan Clark and Athena Clark; and one sister, Cathy Clark of Monterey.

Pallbearers will be Scott Tiffee, Ricky Bryan, Joe Bryan, Ronnie Bryan, Kenneth Hedrick and Gene Wayne Tiffee.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Tiffee, James Smith, Lovine Morace, Betty Tiffee, Teressa Richardson, Stacy Cooper, Jackie Brigman and the staff at the Concordia Parish Correctional Facility.
