FERRIDAY, La. &045; At about 9:30 p.m. Sunday, a Crescent Drive resident reported hearing gunshots.
The next morning, five bullet holes were found on the outside of Kids’ Station daycare on Serio Boulevard.
Upon further inspection, investigators discovered two hulls inside the building, one of which made its way into an Easy-Bake Oven.
While the shooter probably knew the building was unoccupied at the time, Investigator Jimmy Darden said the incident was disturbing.
&uot;Whoever is doing this has to realize that a bullet has to stop somewhere,&uot; Darden said. &uot;It could ricochet &045; or keep traveling and hit a bystander or go into someone’s house.&uot;
Darden said the shooting might have been a thoughtless act of vandalism, but it could have had much more serious consequences. &uot;People think they’re having a good time doing this &045; until someone gets hurt or killed.&uot;
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Darden of Deputy Ashley Gilfoil at (318) 757-3162, 386-2200 or 336-5231.
