SUMMIT &045; A little improvement can sure go a long way.
The Natchez High Lady Bulldogs posted their first win in fast-pitch softball Saturday, a 5-3 win over Loyd Star in their third game in the North Pike tournament Saturday.
The win snapped a three-game losing skid to open the program, and the win couldn’t have been more enjoyable.
&uot;The girls were jumping up and down like they won the state championship,&uot; NHS head coach Sue Johnson said. &uot;It’s a fun and exciting game when you get used to it. We had some fun, and they are getting better and better every ball game.&uot;
The Lady Bulldogs got five runs in the second inning and rode the pitching of Crystal Arnold in that third game to the win.
Earlier in the day the Lady Bulldogs lost to Bogue Chitto 11-8 and North Pike 8-6.
&uot;I’m so proud of them,&uot; Johnson said. &uot;It’s like Mable (Green) said, with a little more practice, we’ll be all right. I’m proud of them &045; I really am.&uot;
