Sixth district court hears guilty pleas

WOODVILLE &045; Three defendants recently entered guilty pleas before Judge Lillie Blockman Sanders in the Sixth District Circuit Court, according to records filed in the Wilkinson County Circuit Clerk’s Office.
The court also received affidavits from the Mississippi Department of Corrections requesting revocation hearings for two defendants who allegedly violated the terms of their probation.
A synopsis of the court’s action:
4Tiffany Suzette McKey was previously charged with felony child exploitation. McKey pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and was sentenced to 360 days in jail, suspended on condition of good behavior.
McKey was also placed on non-reporting probation for one year and ordered to undergo counseling, pay all court costs and cooperate with the Department of Human Services with regard to the care and custody of her minor child.
4Frank Boss Jr., charged with felony child exploitation, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and was sentenced to 360 days in jail, suspended on condition of good behavior. Boss was also placed on non-reporting probation for one year and ordered to pay all court costs.
4Mariah Ernell Weatherspoon, previously charged with two counts of burglary of a storehouse and one count of motor vehicle theft, pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary of a storehouse and was sentenced to a term of four years in prison on each count, to run concurrently. The court also ordered Weatherspoon be placed on post-release supervision after serving 18 months and undergo substance abuse counseling.
4Mario Boygents was convicted of sale of a controlled substance on Feb. 10 and sentenced to seven years in prison. That sentence was suspended, and Boygents was placed on five years of supervised probation. The court recently received an affidavit from MDOC officials stating that Boygents violated the terms of his probation by allegedly committing the crimes of grand larceny and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. No record of a revocation hearing for Boygents had been filed as of Thursday.
4Chevron Carter was convicted of motor vehicle theft and third degree arson on Sept. 29 and sentenced to five years in prison.
That sentence was suspended, and Carter was placed on five years of supervised probation.
The court recently received am affidavit from MDOC officials stating that Carter violated the terms of his probation by allegedly not reporting since April, 2002 and by owing $420 in supervision fees.
No record of a revocation hearing had been filed as of Thursday.
