Two escape from juvenile facility

NATCHEZ &045; As of late Monday night, Natchez police were still searching for a 13-year-old white male who escaped the Adams County Juvenile Detention Center earlier that evening.
Another alleged escapee, a 17-year-old, was captured 45 minutes later by police at the corner of Jefferson and Wall streets after a brief foot chase, according to Police Chief Mike Mullins.
The two allegedly hit a detention officer on the head while they were in a dayroom at the facility, which allowed them to make their escape on foot.
&uot;They didn’t have any weapons. They just used their fists,&uot; Mullins said.
The officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment, although neither his name nor his condition were available as of press time Monday night.
Police were combing the downtown area until late Monday night searching for the 13-year-old. The suspect was wearing yellow prison clothes at the time of his escape.
The names of the alleged escapees were not released because they are juveniles.
