NATCHEZ &045; Services for William Abraham &uot;Boone&uot; Doss, 58, of Natchez, who died Thursday, May 1, 2003, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at China Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Hollins officiating.
Burial will follow in Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 4:30 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Mr. Doss was born Aug. 28, 1944, in Adams County, the son of Ollie Mae Doss and Sim Doss.
He was a retired truck driver and a member of Holy Family Church.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Doss; one son, William Abraham Doss Jr. and his financee, Kanetha Johnson; one grandson, William Abraham Doss III, all of Natchez; one brother, Sim Doss Jr. and his wife, Beverly, both of Seattle, Wash.; two brothers-in-law, Ford Gordon III and his wife, Cora, and Tony Gordon and his wife, Glenda, all of Natchez; two sisters-in-law, Estella Reed and her husband, Percy, both of Port Gibson and Barbara Gordon; two sisters-in-law, Janice Gordon and Audrey Gordon, both of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family. Honorary pallbearers will be Ford Gordon III, Tony Gordon, Percy Redd, Arthur Craig Johnson, Sim Doss and William Doss Jr.

NATCHEZ &045; Services for Lona Mae Matthews, 87, of Ferriday, La., formerly of Natchez, who died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. today at Clayton Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Melvin Rushing and Gary Howington officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Matthews was born Nov. 9, 1915, in Amite County, the daughter of Barney and Ruthie Bates McCallister. She was a homemaker and a member of Clayton Pentecostal Church.
Mrs. Matthews was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel Matthews; three brothers, Johnnie, Luther and Allen McCallister; and three sisters, Jessie McCallister, Flossie White and Elma Delancy.
Survivors include one daughter, Emma Jean Byrnes of Clayton, La.; one son, John Thomas &uot;Pete&uot; Matthews of Ferriday; one sister, Eunice Riser of Natchez; four grandchildren, Darlene Walker, Daniel Johnese, John Johnese and Betty Johnese; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Johnese, John Johnese, William Merritt, Kenny Jackson, Danny Jackson and Steve Joy.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Ray Walker, Douglass McCallister, Barney McCallister, Johnnie McCallister, Hansel Jackson, Luther McCallister and Fred McCallister.
Ishmiel Wyatt
PORT GIBSON &045; Services for Ishmiel Wyatt, 23, who died Friday, May 2, 2003, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Johnny R. Wyatt officiating.
Burial will follow in McCay Cemetery in Russum under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson.
Visitation is from 1 to 6 p.m. with family hour from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Survivors include his father, Johnny Ray Wyatt of Port Gibson; his mother, Evadnie Wyatt of Port Gibson; maternal grandmother, Pearl Maxwell of Boston, Mass.; two brothers, Roberto Ranger and Johnny Wyatt Jr., both of Boston, three sisters, Maritza Ranger of Boston, Angelia Cox of Silver Springs, Mass., and Marieta Wyatt of Port Gibson; one great-uncle, Sante Maxwell of Albany, N.Y.; one great-aunt, Alice Cappia of New York; four uncles, Andrea Wyatt, Leonard Wilson Jr. and Dwayne Thomas, all of Port Gibson, and Carl Wyatt of Portland, Ore.; four aunts, Glenda Murry of Boston, Renita Gammage of Fort Hood, Texas, Joyce Young and Nora Wyatt, both of Portland; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
