CENTREVILLE&045;An argument over a girlfriend reportedly led to a shooting early Sunday morning that left a Centreville man critically wounded, authorities said.
Chief Deputy Patrich Patterson of the Wilkinson County Sheriff’s Office said Edward Lee Graves, 52, suffered five gunshot wounds to his upper torso in the dispute.
Graves was treated at Field Memorial Community Hospital in Centreville until Wednesday.
That was the day doctors determined that he was stable enough to be transported to University Medical Center in Jackson for further treatment, an FMCH spokesperson said.
Deputies answered a call at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday regarding a shooting in the East Ridge Subdivision southwest of Centreville.
Another Centreville resident, 51-year-old Louis T. Allen, reportedly turned himself in to Centreville police on Sunday morning.
Patterson said Allen has been charged with aggravated battery in connection with the shooting.
Allen remained in the Wilkinson County Jail without bond as of Thursday.
