CENTREVILLE &045; At a meeting on June 13, Centreville aldermen voted 4-0 to approve a 5 percent pay raise for all town employees effective Oct. 1.
Alderman Mary West was absent from the meeting.
The board called an executive session at its regular meeting on June 3 to discuss &uot;pay raises and personnel matters,&uot; but Alderman Carl D’Aquila departed that session.
That left fellow board members John Moore and West without a quorum.
Aldermen Thomas Lobrano and Mary Sanders were absent from the June 3 meeting.
Mayor David Owens described the June 13 meeting as a recessed meeting for the purpose of completing business from the June 3 meeting.
&uot;We had some business leftover from our previous meeting that we needed to finish,&uot; Owens said.
The pay increase will apply to all full-time and part-time employees who have put in at least one year of service with the town.
However, it does not include the mayor and aldermen, Owens said.
At the June 13 meeting, the board also:
4Granted temporary permission to the South Centreville Water Association to purchase water from the town until repairs are completed on the association’s water tank.
4Rescheduled its next regular meeting for July 8 at 7 p.m. to allow town officials to attend the Mississippi Municipal Convention in Biloxi during the first week in July.
