RAYVILLE, La. &045; The 17- and 18-year-old East Central All-Stars used a solid start to put away Morehouse to stay alive at the district tournament Monday at Rayville.

East Central got a run in the first and two in the third to take a quick lead before tacking on three in the fifth for a 6-2 lead. Mac Ware homered in the third, and Jason Hayes singled in two runs in the fifth.

Andy Moon went three innings for East Central, while Hayes went three.

Jeffrey Anderson doubled in a run in the seventh and later stole home.
