Saints dominate in win over Plain Dealing

PLAIN DEALING, La. &045; For the second straight week, Trinity Episcopal dominated on both sides of the ball as the Saints cruised to a 57-0 win over the Plain Dealing Academy Bulldogs Friday night.

&uot;Four words &045; it was a lambasting,&uot; Saints head coach David King said. &uot;A simple mismatch.&uot;

Trinity (2-0) racked up 435 yards of total offense while the Saints defense held Plain Dealing to minus-47 yards of total offense &045; all on the grounds as the Bulldogs did not attempt a pass.

The Saints scored 30 points in the first quarter alone to put the game out of reach. Zach Rogel was credited with a safety with 9:38 to go. Ryan Rachal threw a 41-yard touchdown pass to Chase Brown with 8:39 to go. Walt Ketchings scored on a five-yard punt return with 6:12 to go.

Rachal threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Dudley Guice Jr. with 4:15 remaining in the opening quarter and Gregory Ketchings scored on a 19-yard run with 2:49 left for the 30-0 lead. Trinity added to its lead with two touchdowns in the second quarter as Brown scored on a 10-yard run and Rachal connected with Guice on a 90-yard touchdown pass to give the Saints a 44-0 halftime lead.

Gregory Ketchings’ 89-yard run set up Joey Wilson’s one-yard touchdown run with 7:58 to go in the third quarter. Cap White ended the scoring on the night with an 80-yard touchdown run with 6:02 remaining in the game.

&uot;Everybody performed well,&uot; King said.

Trinity’s first real test of the season will take place next Friday at 7:30 p.m. with a home game against Claiborne Academy.

&uot;Claiborne’s going to be good,&uot; King said. &uot;We’re going to have to play four quarters for the first time this season.&uot;
