GLOSTER&045;Football will continue this season at Pine Hills, according to headmaster Jeannie Netterville.

The school was in danger of losing its team after three players were declared academically ineligible last week, leaving the squad with only eight players.

But Netterville and head coach Brian Eby met in Jackson with officials at the Mississippi Private School Association to discuss the future of the team Thursday.

&uot;Pine Hills is celebrating tonight. We have our football team back,&uot; Netterville said Thursday evening.

Netterville said MPSA officials restored eligibility for one of the three previously declared ineligible after reviewing the student’s course credits.

Two more students at the school joined the team, and another who enrolled late will became eligible to play after the mandatory seven-day waiting period, Netterville said.

Pine Hills will host cross-county rival Amite School Center tonight. Kickoff for the MPSA District 7-A match is set for 7:30 p.m.
