Riverpark gets business license

VIDALIA, La. &045; Vidalia aldermen on Tuesday granted occupational licenses for Riverpark Medical Center and doctors who will be located there.

The facility, now being built on the Vidalia riverfront, should have its grand opening Nov. 3, backers have said.

Occupational licenses were granted to Dr. J.H. Fairbanks for Riverpark Medical Center, Dr. Fred Emrick for Riverpark Imaging Center, Dr. Barry Tillman and Dr. C.R. Tillman for Tillman Medical Group and Dr. John A. White for The Head and Neck Clinic.

A license was also granted for Riverpark Ambulatory Surgery.

White, a spokesman for the doctor’s group, said in a recent article the facility will have a &uot;tremendous&uot; economic impact and keep patients from leaving the area for certain procedures.

In addition, the board:

4Approved an occupational license for Janet Weeks for House Trailer Sales.

4Approved occupational licenses and sign applications for T.C. Martin for T.C. Martin Electric Motor Repair and Lavonne Harris for Lavonne’s Hair and Beauty Supply.

4Approved a resolution of support for the Atchafalaya National Heritage Area. Concordia Parish Economic Development Director Teresa Dennis has been appointed as a new member.

4Approved a resolution for utilities for a proposed subdivision as long as the installation of those utilities meets town codes.

4Voted to hire Curtiss Keating as a firefighter.

Also in Tuesday’s meeting, Copeland said the town is researching lawn maintenance ordinances.
