MEADVILLE &045; It was a tale of two halves in an important Region 7-3A contest between the Wilkinson County Lady Wildcats and the Franklin County Lady Bulldogs Tuesday night.

Wilkinson County, in a must-win situation for

a high seed in next month’s region tournament, dominated the first half, especially the second quarter.

But the second half was a completely different story as the Lady Bulldogs turned up the defensive pressure and shut down Kim Griffin on their way to a 58-43 win.

The win put Franklin County (11-4, 5-3) in a tie for third place with North Pike in Region 7-3A. But the way the first half ended up, it didn’t look like that was going to happen.

&uot;We had a terrible first half and Wilkinson County had a lot to do with that,&uot; Lady Bulldogs head coach Charles Moore said. &uot;They were able to get inside. Kim scored 16 of her 20 points in the second half.&uot;

The trio of Griffin, Latasha Williams and Latoya Bailey helped Wilkinson County take a 27-19 lead at halftime.
