Jefferson County Supervisor Isaac Tenner held in Adams jail for allegedly selling prescription drugs

NATCHEZ &045;&045; Jefferson County Supervisor Isaac Tenner was arrested Thursday on charges of selling drugs in a school zone.

Officers from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, the Attorney General’s Office and the Natchez Metro Unit arrested Tenner at his business, Isaac’s Garage at 7 Orange Ave., for the sale of prescription drugs.

Tenner faces one charge for sale of Lorcet, used for cough and pain relief, in a school zone and one charge for selling in the county.

The arrest was the culmination of a three-week investigation that began with a tip from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, according to the MBN.

Tenner was released Friday but must appear in justice court at 9 a.m. Monday. If convicted Tenner could be imprisoned for up to 20 years and fined $1,000 to $250,000 for each charge.

Tenner has served as a Jefferson County supervisor for five years and is in his second term.

Board President Lewis Green would not comment on the matter.
