GSU tandem hits 48 in victory over Lady Braves

GRAMBLING, La. &045; Grambling State got 48 points from guards Scherwanda Boston and Alana Moore in sending Alcorn State home with a 77-51 defeat Monday at Grambling.
A key factor in this victory was that the Lady Tigers managed to score 36 points off of 33 Lady Braves turnovers in this game.
The Lady Tigers improved to 9-10 overall and 7-4 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play while the Lady Braves dropped to 8-12 overall and 6-5 in league play.
&uot;We are showing a lot of patience,&uot; GSU head coach Rusty Ponton said. &uot;We are going through a lot of things injury-wise. We got seven more games left in the season, and we are going to take it one at a time several times. We are really, really happy with this win.&uot;
Moore tied a career high with 26 points on eleven of 16 field goals along with four steals, three rebounds and three assists. Boston had 22 points, five steals, four assists and two rebounds.
Alcorn State was led by guard Shikhia Sims with 14 points, three assists and two rebounds, while center Candace Roberts added 12 points on six of nine shooting along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Forward Natasha Dennis came off the bench to score 10 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
