FLOWOOD &045; Tensas’ girls played what their head coach is calling their best performance of the season to date in a 50-45 win over Heidelberg Academy at the Class A State championships Thursday.

The win advanced the Lady Chiefs into a semifinal matchup with Claiborne Academy at 1 p.m. today.

&uot;We’re really excited,&uot; Tensas head coach Chuck Bauerle said. &uot;I was talking to the girls after the game that this wasn’t our ultimate goal. We played really good defense all night. It was our most complete game.&uot;

Tabitha Howard led Tensas with 14 points.
