Buford F. Wood

Services for Buford F. Wood, 82, of Jonesville, LA, who died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, in Alexandria, LA, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Lake Lilly Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Bass and the Rev. James Foster officiating.

Burial will beat 11 a.m. Saturday at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home of Jonesville.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.

Delores M. Watson

Funeral arrangements for Delores M. Watson, 62, of Ferriday, LA, who died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, are incomplete at Concordia Funeral Home.

Edwin L. Brown

NATCHEZ – Services for Edwin L. Brown, 98, who died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at Adams County Nursing Center, will be at noon Friday at Webb Funeral System Chapel with the Rev. Clifton E. Marvel, Sr. officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of Webb Funeral System.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He was retired from Natchez Regional Medical Center and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Survivors include one brothers, Frances (Margert) Brown of Tampa, FL.

James Jones

NATCHEZ – Services for James Jones, 36, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Select Hospital in Jackson, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Basilica.

Burial will be in the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. today at the church.

Margaret Ware Hill

Oct. 6, 1935 – Feb. 1, 2004

NATCHEZ – Memorial services for Margaret &uot;Punky&uot; Ware Hill, 68, who suddenly passed away on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at her home in Portland, TX, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. John Larson officiating.

Visitation for all family, friends and guests will follow at the Ware residence at 120 Seargent S. Prentiss Dr.

Final interment will be in the Natchez City Cemetery in a private service for the family.

Mrs. Hill was born Oct. 6, 1935, in El Dorado, AR and grew up in Natchez.

She graduated from LSU in 1958 where she met and later married Robert A. F. &uot;Bob&uot; Hill. Three children were born to this union, Robert Ware Hill, deceased, Philip Charles Hill of Portland, TX and Margaret Hill Davidson of Taft, TX.

She was Queen of the Natchez Pilgrimage before being moved to South Texas. Subsequently, she became involved with the United Cerebral Palsy as a volunteer in many capacities. She was a part of many social organizations. Her unique talents for dealing with difficult issues resulting in a positive outlook have touched the lives of many of her friends. She was be survived by many Margaret Hill stories.

Survivors also include five grandchildren, Carrie, Randy and Jessica Hill and Joe and Angelica Davidson.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial contributions be made in Margaret’s name to a charity of ones choice.

William Brown, Jr.

May 5, 1918 – Feb. 12, 2004

FERRIDAY, LA – Services for William Brown, Jr., 85, of Norcross, Ga. formerly of Ferriday, who died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at VA Hospital in Decatur, GA, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Concordia Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday.

Burial will be in the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Brown was born May 5, 1918, in Sicily Island, LA, the son of William and Lees Walker Brown.

He was a retired brick layer, served in the US Army during WWII and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Brown and one son, Terry Brown.

Survivors include two sons, Danny Brown and wife, Miriam of Norcross, GA and William Brown, III and wife, Betty of Harvey, LA; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Aaron Williams of Natchez and Sam Williams of Jonesville, LA; four sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Davis and Jeanette Williams, both of Ferriday, Louisa Avery of Houston, TX and Rosa Redd of Greenville, SC.
