The event is part of an ongoing effort by organizers to raise money for the museum focusing on the history of an Army training base near Centreville where 40,000 soldiers were stationed during World War II.

An early 20th century bank building was renovated to house the museum last year with a $375,000 grant from the Mississippi Department of Archives and History. Organizers said proceeds from Sunday’s reception will help repay a $75,000 loan the Centreville Museum Committee made to cover matching funds for the grant.

Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at the door or in advance from any committee member. For more information, call (601) 645-5930.
