Air Fair a promising activity for weekend

We’ve got our fingers crossed against rain this weekend since the Miss-Lou has a promising event on tap for Saturday and Sunday.
The Natchez-Adams County Airport will host its first Natchez Air Fare beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, a new festival the promoters hope will be like a springtime balloon race festival.
The cost is only $5 per car, but it buys families quite a few activities.
From experimental aircraft on display to military fly-ins to children’s games, the Air Fair will have something for everyone.
And it will also showcase a facility many people may not realize is so valuable to the Natchez-Adams County area.
The airport is one of our most valuable tools not only for personal transportation but for industrial recruitment. A quick glance at the number of aircraft that fly in and out every month will tell you, for example, how often we’re looked at by industrial prospects, and how useful the airport is for their travels.
The airport is an excellent, well-maintained facility and should be a point of pride for all of us.
And this weekend, we all have a chance to see it &045;&045; and to enjoy the show of aerial demonstrations, games and food vendors. Next year, to tie to the Great Mississippi River Balloon Race, the Air Fair organizers may even bring balloons to fly.
We’re looking forward to this event and encourage everyone to head to the airport for a good time. And we’ll just keep hoping against the rain.
