WOODVILLE &045;&045; Police say a male juvenile was injured in a shooting incident that may be connected to the burning of a mobile home Wednesday afternoon in the Sugar Hill section of Woodville.
The juvenile is expected to recover from his injuries, and no suspects had been arrested as of Thursday morning, according to Woodville Police Chief James Forman.
&uot;It appears the shooting was connected to the fire. We’re still trying to piece it together right now,&uot; Forman said.
Forman said more details may be available later in the day. However, a call to his office was not returned Thursday afternoon.
The mobile home, located at 809 S St., belonged to Shirley Harris, according to Woodville Fire Chief Louis D’Aquila.
Fire departments from Woodville, Centreville and Wilkinson County responded to a 3:45 p.m. call, and the first units arrived on the scene at 3:52 p.m., D’Aquila said.
The trailer was completely involved in flames when firefighters were arrived.
A Chrysler automobile parked at the end of the trailer was also heavily damaged by the blaze.
D’Aquila said the cause of the fire was unknown and under investigation as of Thursday afternoon.
&uot; The fire scene was turned over to the police department, and the state Fire Marshall’s office will be notified,&uot; D’Aquila said.
