Shooting outside Ferriday kills one, wounds others; suspect held without bond in Concordia Parish jail

FERRIDAY &045;&045; One person was killed and others were wounded in a shooting incident early Sunday near Ferriday, authorities said.

A suspect, William Clay Nations, 25, of 115 Levens Addition in Ferriday was arrested in connection with the shootings, Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Kathleen Stevens said.

On Sunday evening, Stevens declined to release the number or identity of the wounded, or other details of the incident.

&uot;This case is still very much under investigation,&uot; she said.

Nations was being held Sunday without bond in the Concordia Parish Jail, charged with one count of second degree murder and four counts of attempted second degree murder.

Stevens said more details would likely be released by investigators today.
