Customers try on new frocks at Vidalia store

VIDALIA &045; Audie Mirie Wilson and Eloise Austin spent the early afternoon Sunday helping customers try on dresses at the Mustard Seed.

Both Wilson and Austin, employees at the local store, spend their days at work waiting on customers and trying to stay out of the heat.

Jean Miller, owner and manager of the Mustard Seed, bought the 12-year-old business in February according to both Wilson and Austin.

The store carries all new clothing ranging from casual to Sunday and formal wear in sizes 2 to 6x.

&uot;We have bridal wear, wedding gowns, an assortment of dresses,&uot; Wilson said.

&uot;We’ve got the best prices you’ll find, even in the wedding gowns,&uot; Austin added.

The two employees said the store could also order additional sizes in the outfits that are found in the store.

The Mustard Seed also carries an assortment of purses, hats, flowers, luggage, jewelry and more.

&uot;We have a lady that does alterations,&uot; Wilson said.

Wilson also said that the store carries youth tuxedoes ranging in age from infant to 12 years old.

Both Wilson and Austin said that the summer is usually a busy season.

&uot;We are busy during homecoming, Pilgrimage, Mardi Gras, beauty pageants and proms,&uot; Wilson said. &uot;We even had one girl who came from Texas for a prom dress.&uot;

Both Wilson and Austin are long time employees at the store who love both their job and the community.

&uot;We’re all really close and love it here,&uot; Wilson said.

The Mustard Seed is open on Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
