Sixth Circuit Court accepts 10 pleas in Wilkinson County

WOODVILLE &045;&045; Sixth Circuit Judge Lillie Blackmon Sanders accepted guilty pleas from 10 defendants and granted continuances in 10 other criminal cases during the June term of circuit court in Wilkinson County.
A synopsis of the action based on information provided by the Sixth Circuit District Attorney’s Office:
Michael Johnson, 22, of Crosby, pleaded guilty to attempted sexual battery. Johnson was sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections, suspended, with five years of probation. Johnson was also ordered to pay court costs and have no contact with the victim.
Don Stewart, 22, of Woodville,
pleaded guilty to burglary of a storehouse. Stewart was sentenced to seven years in the MDOC, suspended, with five years of probation. Stewart was also ordered to pay court costs and restitution.
Marvin Williams, 18, of Woodville, pleaded guilty to burglary of a storehouse. Williams was sentenced to seven years in the MDOC, suspended, with five years of probation. Williams was also ordered to pay court costs and restitution.
Travis Rutledge, 21, of Woodville, pleaded guilty to burglary of a storehouse. Rutledge was sentenced to seven years in the MDOC, suspended, with five years of probation. Rutledge was also ordered to pay court costs and restitution.
Latwan Turner, 18, of Woodville, pleaded guilty to burglary of a storehouse. Turner was sentenced to seven years in the MDOC, suspended, with five years of probation. Turner was also ordered to pay court costs and restitution.
Kaine Pace, 19, of St. Francisville, La., pleaded guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Pace was sentenced to 30 days in the Wilkinson County Jail, suspended, and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.
Mary Hardin, 36, of Woodville, pleaded guilty to uttering a forgery. Hardin was sentenced to five years in the MDOC, suspended, with three years of probation. Hardin was also ordered to pay resititution and court costs.
Kelvin James, 19, of Woodville, pleaded guilty to burglary of a dwelling. James was sentenced to three years in the MDOC, suspended, with three years probation. James was also ordered to pay restitution and court costs.
James Robert Craig III, 26, of Denham Springs, La., pleaded guilty to burglary of a dwelling. Craig was sentenced to three years in the MDOC. After serving 60 days, Craig will be placed on probation for two years and 10 months. Craig was also ordered to pay court costs and given credit for 75 days served in jail.
Kenneth Wayne Cooper, 32, of Jackson, La., pleaded guilty to possession of a schedule II controlled substance, methamphetamine (less than 0.1 grams). Cooper was sentenced to four years in the MDOC, suspended, to run concurrent with a 33-month federal sentence. Cooper was also ordered to pay a $3,000 fine and court costs.
Shawn Bruce, 32, of Centreville, was granted a continuance on charges of burglary and sexual battery.
Timothy Whetstone, of Centreville, was granted a continuance on a charge of third offense DUI.
Edna Stine, 35, of Woodville, was granted a continuance on a charge of sale of a schedule II controlled substance, cocaine, (less than 0.1 grams) within 1,500 feet of a church.
Timothy Woodard, 22, of Crosby, was granted a continuance on a charge of aggravated assault.
Mark David Havard, 39, of Gloster, was granted a continuance on a charge of DUI negligent injury.
Trevor Jackson, 43, of Woodville, was granted a continuance on a charge of burglary of a storehouse.
William Henry White, 36, of Crosby, was granted a continuance on a charge of burglary of a dwelling.
Gray Dotson, 42, of Baton Rouge, La., was granted a continuance on a charge of embezzlement.
Sterling Parker, 33, of Crosby, was granted a continuance on a charge of burglary of a storehouse.
