After the game, Vidalia coach Tam Winston downplayed the rivalry of the Ferriday-Vidalia match-up.

&uot; They have some very vocal fans, and they try to make this a bigger rivalry than it really is. But I always say let the kids play the game,&uot; Winston said.

Ferriday managed a run after Ryan Forman doubled in the fourth, but the effort was too little, too late.

&uot;Their boys were playing, and ours weren’t. That’s the bottom line,&uot; Ferriday coach Kenneth Hedrick said.

Vidalia, the host team in the double-elimination tournament, advanced to the championship round on Thursday.

Ferriday will face Winnsboro in an elimination game tonight at 6 p.m.
