Healing, but not closure. That’s what the family of Natchez native Gina Wilson Green hopes they can begin to achieve now that the man suspected in her murder has been convicted in another brutal death.
A West Baton Rouge jury took only two hours Tuesday to find Derrick Todd Lee guilty of the murder of Geralyn DeSoto, one of seven women he is suspected of killing.
Members of Green’s family were in the courtroom for the trial &045; and the verdict.
We cannot begin to imagine the pain they and other families have endured month after month &045; first with the details of Green’s death, and then the search for the serial killer who took her life.
But we do hope that justice will be served for Gina, just as it was for Geralyn DeSoto and her family.
And while nothing can ever bring her back, we hope Green’s family is finally able to begin to heal.
