game,&uot; NHS co-offensive coordinator Trey Woodard said.
The Bulldogs opened the game with an onside kick but couldn’t recover. The Tigers drove a bit and were able to get a field goal, and the Bulldogs tried to create a spark on their following possession by going for it on fourth down at midfield but came up empty.
The Tigers then answered with a touchdown for the quick 10-0 lead.
The Bulldogs had two turnovers in the first half and finished the game with three fumbles lost and two interceptions.
The Bulldogs got two points in the second half when Hattiesburg deep snapped it over the punter’s head and out of the end zone. They scored a touchdown with 40 seconds left in the game when Jason Bruce broke away on a 38-yard run for a score.

FAYETTE &045; It took three overtimes for the game to be decided, and while the Tigers’ defense did its job, it took Avery Hammett’s 1-yard run to finally put an end to this Region 7-3A game as the Tigers prevailed with a hard-fought win over the Jaguars.
The win was also an important one for the Tigers’ playoff chances as they stayed in the hunt for the number three and four spots in 7-3A.
Jefferson County (4-3, 2-2) had its chances to put the game away in regulation, but was stopped short of the goal line by a tenacious North Pike defense that gave Wilkinson County all it could handle just a few weeks ago.
&uot;We were moving the ball well,&uot; Tigers head coach Jeffery Harness said. &uot;We had some good drives. We got in the red zone three times and did not score.&uot;
