MEADVILLE &045; Homecoming night for the Franklin County Bulldogs seemed like another night against any other team that they have faced all year long.

The Bulldogs were coming into Friday night’s game having beaten the last five teams that they have faced by 30 or more points.

Franklin County senior quarterback Jasper O’Quinn showed just why the Bulldogs are 6-0 this season with a 45-0 win over Jefferson County Friday night.

&uot;I was pleased with both the offense and the defense, and I haven’t been in a long time until tonight,&uot; Franklin County head coach Anthony Hart said. &uot;We’re not going to change anything. We’re just going to work hard to get the next win against Hazlehurst next week.&uot;

Not only was it the last home game of his high school career, but it was also against their cross county rivals Jefferson County. The Bulldogs offense wasted no time scoring taking the ball 65 yards on a 1-yard touchdown run by O’Quinn on their opening.

The offense punished Jefferson County on the ground all night long. On their next drive from within their own 27 yard line O’Quinn ran a quarterback keeper 52 yards to bring them deep into Jefferson County territory.

That led to a 2-yard touchdown run by O’Quinn making the score 14-0 with 3:32 remaining in the first. Right when the Jefferson County offense started showing signs of life in the game, the Bulldogs defensive line wasn’t having it.

Not only were they forcing fumbles, but they forced quarterback Isaac Wallace to rush throws while sacking him for big losses three times in the first half.

The Bulldogs blocked an Anthony Chambliss punt to start the second quarter at the Jefferson County 20-yard line.

The offense took advantage of another scoring opportunity and scored on a 4-yard touchdown by Gary Rogers quickly to take a three touchdown lead over Jefferson County.

On the next play on the defensive side, Bo Tillman forced a fumble that he recovered and led to another O’Quinn touchdown putting them up 28-0.

Not only was the Jefferson County offense trying to figure out how to move the ball on the ground they were also trying to figure out how to do it in the air after a Isaac Wallace interception.

After the Franklin County Offense put up another touchdown and a field goal it was all she wrote.

Jefferson County didn’t even get into Franklin County territory until late into the fourth quarter. Franklin County’s defensive line led by big men Marcus and Bo Tillman who forced 3 fumbles didn’t allow over 20 rushing yards the whole game.

Hazlehurst 26, Wilkinson 8

WOODVILLE &045; Wilkinson County’s offense continued to sputter and the Hazlehurst Indians took advantage as they held the Wildcats to just over 100 yards of total offense and erased an early deficit with 20 points in the second quarter en route to the win in a key region matchup.

The Wildcats (4-2, 1-2) dropped their second straight game thanks to the duo of Dexter Douglas and Damien Anderson, who accounted for all four touchdowns, three of them runs and the fourth a 33-yard pass from Johnny Sanders to Anderson that capped off the big second quarter for the Indians.

&uot;They were aggressive up front,&uot; Wilkinson County head coach John Moore said. &uot;Our backs have been bruised up. Injuries have really hurt us. They did a good job of run and pass. We let them out of a couple of fourth-and-longs. That’s what broke our back.&uot;
