MEADVILLE &045; The Franklin County Bulldogs locked up second place in Region 7-3A, which is not where the Bulldogs were hoping to be with one region game remaining, after a convincing 59-12 win over the overmatched Amite County Trojans Friday night.
Franklin County (8-1, 4-1) scored 35 points in the second quarter thanks to a defense that picked off three Amite County passes, two of which led to Bulldog touchdowns. The Trojans (1-7, 1-4) ended up throwing five interceptions in the game.

FAYETTE &045; Jefferson County got more than they asked for last night at their homecoming.
Hazlehurst came out on top beating Jefferson County in a Region 7-3A contest that wrapped up the region title for the Indians.
The Tigers pumped up for homecoming came out with a quarterback sneak going for a 1-yard touchdown.
But the Tigers just couldn’t get their act together, by losing yardage, and not getting out of their territory to intimidate the Indians. Hazelhurst answered the Tigers with an 11-yard touchdown leaving the score at 6-6 with 9:51 left in the second quarter.
De’undre Pendleton wasn’t finished putting the icing on the cake catching an interception running 50 yards to the touchdown.
