Parades to be this weekend

VIDALIA &045;&045; Miss-Lou residents itching to get into the Christmas spirit have two chances this weekend in the parish.
The Town of Ferriday will hold its Christmas parade Saturday at 10 a.m. downtown.
In Vidalia, the annual parade will be at 3 p.m. Sunday. This year’s theme is &uot;The Wonderful World of Christmas.&uot;
Chairperson Nancy McLemore said about 50 floats, cars and marching groups would be in the parade.
The route starts at the Upper Elementary School on Concordia Avenue, goes onto Carter Street past the Welcome Center and end at the High School.
The grand marshal is local educator and civic leader Walter Stampley.
There is no entry fee for floats or participants and prizes will be awarded for large and small floats.
McLemore said she would take last minute entries and those interested should call her at 336-5608.
