VIDALIA, La. &045; Linda Bonnette spent an extra half-hour at the bank Friday afternoon.

That’s how long it took to count the $3,756.15 in donations to Vidalia’s Feed the Hungry program &045; about half of it in one-dollar bills.

&uot;This was great,&uot; said Bonnette, director of the program established by Vidalia First Assembly of God.

Vidalia employees&045; including Mayor Hyram Copeland &045; spent Friday at a roadblock collecting donations for the organization. The money collected was more than last year’s total.
