NATCHEZ &045; Adams County officials hope to advertise for bids as early as next week for construction for new industry Venco.
Natchez-Adams County Economic Development Authority Director Mike Ferdinand said that would keep the project on a timetable to allow construction to begin in mid-January.
&uot;As soon as the engineering (plan) is complete, they will advertise for bids, maybe by the middle of next week,&uot; Ferdinand said.
Venco is a Baton Rouge-based metal fabrication plant that will be building a facility at the Adams County Port. The company has promised at least 50 jobs for the area.
The Adams County Board of Supervisors is advertising for bids because the county is administering the economic development grants that helped make the project possible, Ferdinand said.
Venco broke ground Nov. 1 on the property at the port.
The county and EDA had been working to lure the company for several months.
