Natchez head coach Sue Johnson really isn’t taking it one game at a time here early in the season.
It’s more of a play-by-play, possession-by-possession thing for the new head coach.
Johnson liked the play of the Lady Bulldogs’ defense as her club ran out to the convincing win over the Lady Trojans.
Natchez led 45-15 at halftime.
&uot;We had a few kinks in our defense,&uot; Johnson said. &uot;As a staff, we got together and put our heads together. The girls’ confidence level was a whole lot better as they remembered where they were supposed to go on defense. We’re taking it a little bit at a time. We’re still working on our plays, but we’re trying to put that defense together first.&uot;
The Lady Bulldogs (1-1) led 25-10 by the end of the first quarter and outscored the Lady Trojans 20-5 in the second. In the third Natchez held a 21-6 advantage to lead 66-21.
