NATCHEZ – Services for Eugene Alexander Long, 65, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bright Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Tracy Cusic officiating.

Burial will be in the Wilderness Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The Procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Saturday.

Mr. Long was born Oct. 19, 1929, in Adams County, the son of the late Rev. Andrew Long Sr. and Susie Mitchell.

He attended Sadie V. Thompson High School. He was a landscaper and a member of Bright Star Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Huey P. Long; two sisters, Mary L. Douglas and Elizabeth Long; and son, Demetric D. Long.

Survivors include his wife, Martha B. Long; son, Marvin Weir of Houston, Texas; sister, Sarah Long Clay and husband, Willie, of Natchez; four brothers, Andrew Long Jr., Albert Long, and Cordell Long, all of Chicago, Ill., and Henry Patterson of Natchez; eight children he raised; 19 grandchildren; and mother-in-law, Thelma Blanton.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

MEADVILLE – Funeral arrangements for Mattie Priest, of Meadville, who died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at Meadville Nursing Home, are incomplete at Franklin Funeral Home of Meadville.

WOODVILLE – Services for Dora Jackson, 82, of Woodville, who died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at Our Lady of Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, La., will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Singleton Chapel Baptist Church.

Burial will be in the Hunter Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Newman Funeral Home.

Jeanne Lambert Clarke

Oct. 3, 1925-Nov. 9, 2004

NATCHEZ – Graveside services for Jeanne Lambert Clarke, 79, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at her residence, will be 2 p.m. today at the Natchez National Cemetery with Dr. Judson W. Hurt officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Clarke was born Oct. 3, 1925, in Redondo Beach, Calif., the daughter of the late Charles Everett Lambert and Pearl Fagala Lambert.

She was a volunteer in various clubs and civic organizations through out her life. She retired from Sears in Calif., a job she dearly loved. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Natchez.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret Ellen Clarke; and son, William Franklin Clarke Jr.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, William Franklin Clarke Sr. of Natchez; son, James Everett Clarke and wife, Deborah, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; daughter, Bonnie Logan Reed and husband, Walter Lawrence Reed, of Natchez; grandchildren, Lisa Logan Erhardt and husband, Michael, of Memphis, Tenn., John Clarke Logan of Fayette, William Franklin Clarke III, Nicole Elizabeth Clarke and Dylan James Clarke of Fairfax, Calif.; great-grandson, Logan Michael Erhardt of Memphis, Tenn.; and beloved pets, Annie, R.T., and Ace.

Jeremy Wayne Mills Tatum

April 28, 1985-Nov. 8, 2004

ROXIE – Memorial services for Jeremy Wayne Mills Tatum, 19, of Natchez, who died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, in Adams County, will be 1 p.m. today at Union Baptist Church in Roxie with Rev. James Johnson and Rev. Corky Evans officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Michelle Mills Tatum of Natchez; son, Nathaniel Blake Tatum of Natchez; mother, Tammie Tatum of Natchez; father, Jimmie Tatum Jr. of Natchez; brother, Anthony Duane Mills of Natchez, grandmother, Shirley Floyd of Natchez; and best friend, Justin Barnes of Natchez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Mills, Justin Barnes, Nick Felter, David Felter, Adam Craft, Dano Craft, Adrain Floyd, Casey Floyd, and Joey Seab.

John &uot;Kemp&uot; Hawkins Sr.

Aug. 28, 1912-Nov. 3, 2004

NATCHEZ – Services for John &uot;Kemp&uot; Hawkins Sr., 92, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be noon Saturday at Bibleway Pentecostal Church with Elder Jerry Jones officiating.

Burial will be in the Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Hawkins was born Aug. 28, 1912, in Adams County, the son of the late David Hawkins and Minerva Davis Hawkins.

He was a retired railroad laborer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Maggie Drew Hawkins.

Survivors include nine children, John Hawkins Jr. of Houston, Texas, Marie Butler and husband, Andrew, of Greenbrier, Tenn., Claude Hawkins of Handford, Calif., Winola Bell and husband, Charles, of Waco, Texas, Carrie Bass and husband, Jimmy, of Los Angeles, Calif., Alice Jones and husband, Jerry, of Grovesbeck, Texas, Odell Hawkins of Natchez, Annie King and husband, Floyd, of Waco, Texas, and Irvin Hawkins and wife, Jackie, of Natchez; two brothers, Thomas Hawkins of New Orleans, La. and Leonard Hawkins of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Ruby Whitting of Chicago, Ill. and Eloise Hawkins of Natchez; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.
